PUFFS – still reading scripts, our Rogues beginning to rock this out…

Mar 25, 2025

Jist watched the off-Broadway production – disappointing in that our local Rogues, even while still reading scripts, are doing a much more interesting job. Part of that is casting. After getting a taste of the Rogues in action, playing 11 to 17 year old “Puffs”, the supposedly model production comes across as flat, and actually difficult to sit through, lacking in personality.

In the intro shot here: Jesse, as Cedric celebrating having his name pulled out of the chalice – if Jesse is in a production, there will inevitably be a major leap somewhere.

Two of Nate, playing probably the most dufus Puff of all. By the time this is over, I’l be able to put together an entire book of just his facial expressions – this is going to be golden…

Caleb and Will looking sneaky – Caleb and Moxie having a rough time keeping straight faces while rehearsing…

“Puffs (Two Act Edition)” is presented by special arrangement Rogue Swan Theatre Co., a 501(c)3 non-profit performing arts troupe, and Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
