The Vandiver has the advantage of being, for the audience, a great place for these shows. Plenty of room for dancing and good food. It also has the disadvantage of being a very awkward venue for getting shots of the the Bangtails. What light there is is mostly behind them, uncool, arrrrgh. Exposures were all at iso 12,800 and above. I’m getting used to resultant struggles with the files – and finding a balance that approaches what the eye would see…

And a shot-in-the-dark of Rogue member April Monique with her parents in the audience. This exposure was in the ridiculous neighborhood of iso 102,400. Something of an experiment. I do like the challenge of shooting low to no light, but I'm contemplating taking a second camera with fill flash for audience and dance shots…
